The Norwood Health Department is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday. The office is closed on holidays including New
Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents’ Day,
Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Veterans’ Day,
Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and
Christmas Day.
The Norwood Health Department is divided into divisions to better
serve the citizens of Norwood:
Administration:
The Board of Health hires the Health Commissioner who oversees the
day-to-day operations of the department. The health commissioner
hires other staff members and serves as Secretary to the Board of
Health.
Vital Statistics:
The Norwood Health Department maintains birth and death certificates
from 1908 to the present. Only those residents who were born at home
or died in within the city limits will have vital records stored at
the Norwood Health Department. Call (513) 458-4600 to see if we have
your vital record stored at our facility.
Nursing Division:
Public health nurses perform such duties as home visits for elderly,
families and children, immunizations, communicable disease
investigation, chronic disease investigation and follow up, Bureau for
Children with Medical Handicaps services, car seat assistance, school
nursing services for private and parochial schools and other services

Environmental
Division: Our
sanitarian inspects all restaurants, grocery stores, infectious waste,
public swimming pools and vending machines within the city. The
Norwood Health Department also collects mosquitoes and birds for West
Nile Virus testing. See the Environmental Division button on the left

Nuisance Division:
Each year the Norwood Health Department receives and investigates over
1,600 complaints, ranging from high grass and overcrowding to
insufficient heat and garbage and rodents. Contact the Norwood Health
