The Norwood Health
Department
was
founded in 1890 and was originally located in the basement of the City
Municipal Building. Because of the growing population and the need
for expanded services and space, the City of Norwood constructed the
building located at 2059 Sherman Avenue. Many residents remember
receiving oral polio sugar cubes and vaccinations at the health
department. We are mindful of the sacrifices that those before us
made in bringing public health to the city.
Our Mission
To prevent the
spread of disease; promote healthy lifestyles and behaviors and
protect our environment, residents and visitors from harmful effects
of pollutants and diseases.
Our Vision
All people who
live or work in Norwood are protected
from disease and other public health threats and are able
to utilize health information, services and resources
to achieve optimal health.
We welcome visitors to our facility and
remain thankful for the support that we receive from the City of
Norwood. |
